Puj Tub

This baby tub is fantastic!!  When I was pregnant and at the baby store selecting items for my registry, I did not like any of the infant bath tub options.  The only ones available were made of hard plastic and there was no way I could see that being comfortable for a newborn.  After a little searching online I found the Puj Tub.  Based on everything I read on their website I was willing to try it out.  And boy was I impressed with it!  First of all, the tub is super soft {and BPA-free & PVC-free} and flexible, making it extremely comfortable for baby.  The flexibility of the tub also allows for it to be used in a variety of sizes of sinks.  The tub is about 1 inch thick and hangs flat to dry so you don't have to worry about making room for a bulky tub.  I put up a Command hook in our bath tub and would hang the Puj to dry in there.  The Puj is also available in some great color options - Aqua, Kiwi, and the original White.

Grass Countertop Drying Rack by Boon

One of my favorite baby items I purchased while Nick was a newborn was this drying rack by Boon.  I fell in love with it's modern and unique look and was very impressed with how functional it was as well.  I love anything that has a sleek, modern, and minimalist design.  Anything that is big and bulky and made of a ton of plastic really isn't something I go for.  I'm big on keeping our space as clutter-free as possible and it annoys me to no end when things take up too much space.  Clearly that's easier said than done with a toddler running around.  But anyway, this drying rack is great for all your baby's little things:  bottles, collars, bottle nipples, pacifiers, teethers, utensils, bottle brush, etc.  When I purchased the Grass rack, that was the only size Boon made.  But now, they offer Lawn - a larger rectangular shaped drying rack.  Lawn takes up more counter space but it's still great because it maintains it's modern look as well as it's low profile design.  Boon also makes these neat Stems that you can add to either the Grass or Lawn and they hold all your small bottle pieces and/or pacifiers while leaving room for bigger items on the actual drying rack.  And when the rack needs to be washed, you can just add it to your next dishwasher cycle.

Co-Sleeper

Even before Nicholas was born, I knew there would be no way I was going to be comfortable leaving him in his bedroom all alone.   Once he was a few months old, naturally I would make that transition.  But to start, Nicholas stayed with us in our bedroom using the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper for about two months.  This has been yet another product that has gotten great use in our house.  Nicholas still uses it today (as a playard) when I need to mop the floors or take a shower.  I went with the Mini-Convertible Co-Sleeper because we didn't have too much room in our bedroom for the full-size one, but also because I wanted to be able to move it around the house easily if I needed to.  This model has two caster wheels and converts from a traditional co-sleeper, to a free standing co-sleeper, to a playard.  It is the ultimate all-in-one baby "holder" solution.

Diaper Bag

Since Nicholas was born, 19-months ago, the only diaper bag I've owned is the Charlie by Timi and Leslie.  I absolute LOVE this bag!!  I went with the light brown color but now they make it in a metallic pewter option - super fab!! This bag has held up all this time and still looks great.  My first reason for choosing this bag was that it looked like a purse and not an actual diaper bag.  This bag has a ton of a storage and comes with "many functional and fashionable accessories."

Highchair

Nicholas didn't start eating solid foods until he was 5 1/2 months old.  I had read that waiting to feed solids to babies between 4 and 6 months old is best because it reduces their risk of obesity.  Nicholas seemed completely content with only formula until one day it was obvious that milk alone just wasn't doing it anymore.  Just like the strollers, highchairs that were big and bulky were a complete turn-off.  Eventually, we came across the Stokke Tripp Trapp and decided it was perfect for our son and our home.

We loved the sleek design and the fact that one of the many color options matched our dark wood dining room set.  Nicholas' highchair would now fit in with us at the table instead of being a piece of clunky furniture in the corner of the kitchen.  Another great feature is the idea that the highchair grows with the child - talk about getting your money's worth!  The only downside to this highchair  was that it didn't come with an attachable tray.  Of course you have the option to purchase the Table Top that sits on your table, but as I've learned, there are times where having an attached tray is needed.  But, have no fear! A very wise person created the PlayTray which is specifically designed to fit the Tripp Trapp highchair.

Our son has been eating all his meals in this highchair for over 10 months now and it's still in great condition.  I always make sure to wipe off any food and crumbs after every meal and I give it a quick cleaning with Pledge maybe once a week and that's about it.  The coordinating cushion and baby set work well too and help keep the baby comfortably in place.  Both accessories are easy to clean too.

Car Seat & Stroller

Nicholas has been using the Orbit Baby system since he was a newborn.  I absolutely loved this newborn car seat for many reasons - easy to carry because of the ergonomically flexible soft handle, awesome "paparazzi shield" to protect against the elements (and hand-sy strangers), cozy and safe seat, and of course, the circular SmartHub that allows you to dock the car seat from virtually any angle.  The stroller itself is great too because it folds and unfolds very easily and the frame isn't big and bulky.  Only downside - not much room for your diaper bag or other items since there isn't a basket.  The frame does include a Cargo Pod but it doesn't hold very much.

Eventually, Nicholas graduated to the Toddler Car Seat.  This car seat can be used both rear and forward facing which is great since the new recommendation is to keep toddlers rear facing past their 1st birthday. This seat also uses the SmartHub so it can still be used on the stroller frame.  Downside here is that the seat and your 20+lb. toddler gets pretty heavy to be moving from vehicle to stroller and vice versa.  Of course Orbit gives you the option to purchase the Stroller G2 seat to use only on the stroller frame, saving you from moving the Toddler Seat in and out of your vehicle (especially once it's permanently set as a forward facing seat).  But I found that this option takes up way too much cargo space.  I drive a midsize SUV and with both the seat and frame loaded in the back, I'm left with hardly any space for groceries or anything else.
